Attended the Pennsylvania Tea Festival Today

There's nothing quite like a day spent celebrating tea with fellow enthusiasts, and today at the Pennsylvania Tea Festival was absolutely magical. I had the pleasure of attending a fascinating class on tea and protein—a topic I'd never considered before, and it completely shifted how I think about my daily cup.
The instructor opened with a simple but eye-opening question: What if your tea could do more than just comfort you? It turns out that certain tea varieties, particularly oolongs and aged pu-erhs, contain amino acids and compounds that complement protein-rich diets in surprising ways. I learned that the L-theanine found in green and white teas works synergistically with protein intake, supporting focus and recovery in ways that neither could achieve alone.
What struck me most was discovering how intentional tea pairing can enhance wellness routines. The class walked through practical examples—pairing a chai tea and a matcha tea with protein powders. It felt less like science and more like an invitation to be more mindful about what we drink and why.
Have you discovered any unexpected benefits from your favorite teas? I'd love to hear what resonates with you.
